TCCR rarely posts available dogs on our webpage.

This is because people who already have an active, approved application with TCCR are given first chance to adopt dogs.

Fortunately, dogs are usually adopted almost as soon as they are evaluated and their medical care is finished.

If you are interested in adopting a dog from TCCR, please submit your application HERE.

Note: TCCR may have Collies and Shelties presently in the care of foster homes. These Collies and Shelties are under review for fitness and health. While every attempt is made to maintain and update the available Collie and Sheltie profiles, TCCR cannot guarantee the availability or suitability of a Collie or Sheltie for interested parties. Prior to adopting a TCCR Collie or Sheltie, an application must be completed and approved. Interested families are encouraged to fill out an application.

About Tri-County Collie Rescue

Mission Statement: To provide rescue, foster and veterinary care, and ultimately to place in approved 'forever' homes, purebred or almost purebred Collies and Shelties from animal shelters and owners who can no longer care for them, as well as to educate the public about proper pet care and the importance of spaying and neutering all pets.

Tri-County Collie Rescue was established in 1986, and remains a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. It is governed by a three-person board: President, Secretary and Treasurer. Meetings are held on the third Friday of January, March, May, July, September and November. Election of officers is in November. Membership dues are $15.00/year for an individual and $20.00/year for a family. TCCR has about 80 total members in any given year.

TCCR's foster dogs live with foster families until they find permanent homes. If they do not find permanent homes, they will live the rest of their lives in foster care. Interested parties in one of our adoptable dogs must first fill out an application. Once an application has been approved, a home and yard check of the potential adopter is performed. Once the property is approved, you may contact the foster families of the dogs you are interested in and arrange a Meet and Greet with them. Once you and the foster family mutually agree on the dog you are interested in, there is a 24 hour waiting period to consider your choice and discuss it with family members living in your household. Then you would contact the foster family to make arrangements to complete the adoption process, which includes payment in full and a contract signed between TCCR and the adopter.

Adoption Fees:

Every collie that enters into our care is different. Adoption fees will vary based upon factors such as age, health, chronic condition(s) or other situations that TCCR feels is relevant.
